Our Year 11 students were delighted to have ten guest speakers in school last Monday. The aim of the session was for our Year 11 students to have a better understanding of the world of work; in particular the interview process. The students were given a brilliant insight into how businesses choose their candidates and what they expect from interviewees. The feedback from the students was very positive with 95% of the students felt the workshops were really useful. Three students commented, 'I'd change nothing, it was perfect.'
Students have been learning how to write CVs, covering letters and discussing the best way to approach an employer in their P4C lessons.
We would like to thank the business people that helped us on the day by coming to school and sharing their business acumen and experience with our students. The guest speakers for the morning were; Adrian Slade from Adrian J Slade Ltd, Bruce Minchin from Bentley 2 you, Caroline Lear and Zoe Cornish from Wiley, Jools Chaffer from Dizzy, Jo Scott from Learning & Development Consultants, Stefan Hager from HSBC, Steve Royffe from Amberley Project Management Limited, Tara Lovejoy from Skyroots, and Tim Mulkern from Chase Design & Communications.
