The winner of the Bishop Luffa School Book Award was announced in the Library at lunchtime. The Declaration by Gemma Malley was the run away winner! This brought to a conclusion the process which started last November when fifty pupils from Years 8, 9 and 10 read from a longlist of forty titles which were published in paperback during 2008. They considered the enjoyment and enriching factors of the books and decided together which six books should be on the shortlist. This was then open for anyone in the school to read and over a hundred pupils took part. The winning author has been invited into school in the Autumn term to accept her award.
