Aims and Philosophies of the School
Bishop Luffa School embodies formally and in practice the partnership between The Church of England, the Local Authority and the State.
The school is governed in accordance with its original foundation, which ensures independence for its Governors and ensures that its teaching is in accordance with the belief and practice of the Church of England.
We aim to provide what is best in modern education, enlightened by an understanding of the importance of the spiritual dimension to life.
The school’s philosophy is to encourage excellence in all aspects of school life, but also to measure success in terms of progress as well as achievement. We aim to create a school where pupils of all aptitudes can develop their talents to the full. Our philosophy is summed up in our Five Year Vision:
• Strong, confident, outward-looking Christian ethos
• Only the best and everyone matters
• Creative, dynamic, reflective learning community
• Students’ programmes matching needs and aspirations
• Staff development integral to the School’s culture
• Partnership with families, providers, churches and the wider community
• An environment that celebrates our work & promotes a climate of respect and care
