The New Horizons concert in the Cathedral on Saturday, 27 January was a resounding success raising £5,800 for the New Frontiers project - a joint initiative by the CFT and Churches Together in Chichester which supports disadvantaged and vulnerable young people in the area. A splendid array of local talent was on show led by Amanda Cook, the internationally acclaimed classical guitarist, supported by, among others, The Chichester Festival Youth Theatre, Arundel Cathedral Choir, the New Moves Dance Group, The Chantry Quire and last but not least Bishop Luffa’s very own barber shop group "The Weekenders". The boys were on top form performing with verve, humour and technical excellence - so much so that the host for the evening, Patricia Routledge, announced that ”It’s obvious that lots of good things go on at Bishop Luffa School.” Well done!
The Weekenders will be performing at the Annual School Concert which will take place on 14 March in the Bartlett Hall. This promises to be a musical extravaganza featuring The Senior and Lower School Choirs, the Swing Band and the new Samba Band . Watch out for the publicity and make sure that you book early for this knock-out show!
