“2007 had to be the best year for the 6th form fashion show,” said Kayleigh Carter of Year 12. “The songs, routines and clothes all combined to make an evening full of highlights, with clothes ranging from top quality tutus to hand made corsets.”
Using James Bond ‘007’ as the theme for the evening, the show presented fashions from twenty-one local shops, who kindly lent their latest collections for the students to model in a series of energetic, fast-moving dance routines. Two routines also featured the work of sixth form textiles students, who created exquisite corsets especially for the show.
“It was more exciting then I’d ever imagined it would be. It was the best Luffa fashion show ever!” commented Danni Dunster, also of Year 12.
“Right from the start our rehearsals progressed well,” said Jonny Boutwood. “A few days before the show the atmosphere was buzzing and the performances were so exciting. The lights were amazing and the set was fantastic. Our group (No more Heroes) got nominated for the best dance routine but we just missed out to Raining Men. Still, for a group of six boys we thought it was a surprisingly great achievement!”
The Sixth Form organisers of the show said they were delighted with the support they received, especially from sponsors Peglers, the expedition advisers and suppliers based in Arundel, Kaotic Event Productions, Speedy Power, After Dark Productions and Clares Office Supplies. Fashions were generously lent by Aspire Dancewear, Chichester Fancy Dress, Cotton Fields, Filarinskis, Game Set & Match, Joules, Meritz, Moss Bros Hire, Next, Officers Club, Peglers, Pushka, Seateach, Shore Watersports, Viyella and Look, as well as by charity shops run by Barnardo’s, Oxfam and Cancer Research UK.
