Our Sixth form students have handed over a cheque for £1650 to Sharon Anson of Grassroots Tanzania, to help maintain the three projects set up between Bishop Luffa School and the Grassroots charity.
In Tanzania the students’ ongoing fundraising efforts are providing land and goats for a feeding programme, as well as the development of a play area for pre-school pupils. A third project provides supports for a children’s home for street children in Kenya and toilets have already been constructed, thanks directly to our students’ commitment.
The sum of £1650 represents 10% of the total cash raised by our Sixth Form this year and the students have undertaken to continue this proportion in the future, so the projects can be sustained.
The remainder of the cash raised this year has already been handed over to Hope and Homes for Children.
