The Summer Reading Challenge being given to the pupils in Year 7 is to read six books of their choice over the holidays. They visited the Library with their English teacher to be introduced to new books and authors by the Librarian who emphasised the importance of the word "Challenge" in the scheme. Pupils were then encouraged to borrow up to six titles recognising which books would be a challenge for them. They each have a leaflet to fill in the authors and titles of the books as they read them and when all six have been read they should fill in the few questions on the facing page. The completed leaflet should be brought to their first English lesson in Year 8 where certificates will be awarded for completion or excellent effort. Happy Reading!
