Years 7 and 12 were in school today for their Induction Day. Over breakfast Year 7 pupils were welcomed and reminded of the importance of having a good meal at the start of the day. They then had a series of activities, developing their teamwork, finding out about the different styles of thinking represented by De Bono's Thinking Hats and learning how to remember a lot of facts about the Chinese postal service using visual, auditory and kinaesthetic triggers.
Year 12 learnt about the advanced thinking and learning skills they will need to be independent and successful learners through a series of activities involving physical and mental challenges including a single exercise called Breathe which focused on students own values, attitudes and approaches to the coming year.
In spite of the downpour at lunchtime it's been a very successful day.
