This consultation meeting is taking place on Tuesday 17 November at 7.00pm at Fishbourne Club
Network Rail is proposing to replace the existing footpath crossing with a ramped bridge or underpass. This proposal is a result of detailed surveys of the numbers of people using the crossing (in excess of 1,200 per day) and the fatalities at this location. West Sussex County Council, Chichester City Council and Fishbourne Parish Council have for many years been urging Network Rail to make the crossing safer for users and train drivers who are involved in the deaths on the line.
Before any decision is made users of the crossing are being invited to consultation events to be brief on the proposal and invited to express their views. The consultation meeting for Fishbourne users will be held on Tuesday 7.00pm 17 November 2009 at Fishbourne Club. Representatives of Network Rail, West Sussex County Council and our parish council will be in attendance. If you use this crossing do come along.
