As part of their Additional Applied Science course our Year 11 pupils set off to Blue Reef in Southsea, on a cold January morning. Unusually they weren’t studying the fish but the humans who work there. Their task was to find out how they use science in their work and what qualifications they need to do the job well. They researched health and safety in the Aquarium Centre and discussed how the staff coped with possible problems. Oh yes and as you can see from the picture they enjoyed looking at the fish and playful otters too.
