“It was really fun and I learnt a lot teaching others.” “It helped improve my pronunciation.” “I had a great time.” Just some of the comments from year 9 pupils who took on the role of a French teacher at the local primary school, supporting a year 6 class as they booked into a hotel, bought clothes, and ordered snacks and drinks in a café. They worked tremendously hard on their lesson preparation and were confident and creative in their approach. Congratulations to all those who took part!

Please would any Sixth Form student affected by the travel disruption currently being experienced contact the school giving detail of how work can be sent to you, preferably electronically.
Please e-mail staffordc@bishopluffa.org.uk or ring the school directly (0044243 787741).
I do hope that the situation is not too personally difficult and that you are quickly able to return home.

Please note the latest advice about arrangements during the disruption to flights home caused by the volcanic ash.
Exam classes
- Any students from Years 11-13 stranded abroad are asked to email the school (webadmin@bishopluffa.org.uk ). Work will then be sent to them while they are away. This will include links to past papers and mark schemes on exam board websites, revision sites, and specific work to be done.
- Some staff timetables have been re-arranged so that Year 11 and Sixth Form exam classes whose teachers are absent are being taught by subject staff.

Please watch for regular updates.
The Summer Term starts at 8.05am on Monday 19 April. Although some pupils and staff have been affected by the cancellation of flights home due to volcanic ash, contingency plans are in place and school will operate as normal.
