KEY STAGE 4
Pupils follow the OCR course in GCSE ICT. In Year 10 they will develop knowledge and understanding of ICT and the impact that it has on them and society. They will study current ICT technology but also be aware of any emerging technologies. This knowledge is tested in a one hour exam. They also have to complete a series of controlled assessment tasks set by the board.
In Year 11 they continue to study a range of ICT systems in a business or organisational context. They also have practical work in the form of a larger task. They have the choice of two methods of solution, one ICT based and one programming based. They have a second one hour exam at the end of the year.
