Bishop Luffa’s Netball season starts on a high as 3 of our pupils are selected for County squads.
After a talent ID session held at the School a group of pupits were selected to attend the first round of Sussex Netball county trials held at the University of Brighton back in June. Around 60 players battled for nearly 4 hours as the group was reduced to half. Three pupils from Bishop Luffa were delighted to make it through this tough first trial– Abigail Edwards (Under 14’s) and Beth Carnegie and Rosie Crampin (Under 16’s). The girls after a long summer holiday went on to attend a second day of trials. After 2 hours of fitness, drills and games the groups fate was decided. All three of our pupils were selected for the full county squad. This selection will give each of the girls fortnightly high level training and games against other counties. Miss Hall their teacher said “I am delighted for the girls and so proud of them. They are all very talented netballers and have worked really hard to get here. I hope this helps their skills improve even further as they move up the England Netball framework’”
