At Bishop Luffa we understand the importance of making the right choice when choosing a career. Like the famous adage goes, if you choose the job you love, you don’t have to work a single day in your life. On the other hand, a wrong decision can leave you wishing that you had trodden a different path.
This is why we have got plenty of resources in school available to all pupils/students:
- School Library (Careers Area)
- Careers Board (Outside Main Library)
- CareersEtc- which can be accessed by pupils (using the school intranet) and parents (from home).
- Luffa Careers
Pupils/students are able to find relevant information about Careers opportunities, Choices, Apprenticeships, qualifications, information about Work Experience, videos and links to important websites.
While doing a career search it is imperative to have the correct career information. An informed choice is always a better bet than an uninformed one. The right career advice can help you to choose a career to suit your personality as well as your aspirations. In school we have a Careers adviser, her name is Alice Mcdougall and a Careers Interview with her can be requested at any time during the year.
In addition to this and as part of the new developments for Careers in school, tutors are delivering 10 min tutorial lessons in Careers every other week for all year groups. The aim of these sessions is to make students aware of the importance of Careers and to encourage them to create and develop a Careers Plan from an early age.
