Virtual Church Services

Virtual Churches

Churches haven’t closed, they’ve gone online! If you are looking for a live service, or would like to listen to a reflection or prayer, then here are some suggestions:

The Archbishop of Canterbury led a service for Mothering Sunday that you can find here at https://www.churchofengland.org/, along with a prayer for the day, services you can read yourself and a list of churches that are live streaming around the world.

Nationally:

Holy Trinity Brompton are keeping their regular streaming service going, at: https://www.htb.org/sundayonline. They have many talks in their archive, and our Deputy Head, Steve Williams recommends this talk: https://www.htb.org/sunday-talks-archive/2020/3/16/faith-not-fear.

King’s Church, Guildford have a live stream that has been recommended by one of our staff: https://www.kcg.org.uk/video/.

Prayer:

Many of you may be thinking that this is a good time to pray! One of our clergy team, Reverend Paul Collins, recommended this book to us, which is well worth a read: https://www.amazon.co.uk/How-Pray-Simple-Normal-People/dp/1529374928/ref=sr_1_11?keywords=meaning+easter&qid=1584780789&sr=8-11.

Please let me know of any other virtual churches in our area. I am seeing this as a great opportunity to experience different styles of worship – it is going to be the most unusual Easter in most of our lifetimes, so why not try something new and connect with Christians in other parts of the community.

God bless,
