Dear Parents and Carers,
Further to my message on Friday 28th February concerning the 141 Compass bus service, I would like to reassure you that the school has been trying to negotiate a compromise with Compass and will continue to do so. We were as shocked as you all have been by the suddenness of the announcement and felt that we needed to let you know what the bus company were proposing.
The bus company have suggested that the school funds the difference between the existing cost and the new cost. That would mean a bill of £15000 a year; we would not be able to pay this without reducing staffing at school. It would also set a precedent that may be applied to other bus routes.
I would like to invite all affected families and a representative from the bus company to a meeting at the school to discuss the issue with a view to agreeing upon a solution that allows the bus route to continue.
I would like to hold the meeting on Tuesday 10 March at 6pm in the Bartlett Hall.
I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible and hope that we can work together to ensure that this important bus route keeps running.
Mr Mark Nicholds, Business Manager
