This morning we welcomed our new Year 7 pupils to Bishop Luffa School, at the same time as welcoming back all our other pupils. They started their day with breakfast, before spending the morning getting to know each other through a range of activities. Positively MAD gave a great session showing Year 7 creative approaches to learning. The day concluded with Spaghetti Towers, a traditional, healthy inter-house competition, the winners being Otter House.
Mr Topley, Assistant Headteacher, Head of Key Stage 3 talked to the pupils about how to get the BEST out of their time at Bishop Luffa, linking in to our motto ‘Always our BEST because everyone matters.’
B – be brave – there can be lots of uncertainty when you start secondary school
E – be energetic in your approach towards learning
S – smile at others – it’s an act of kindness
T – be true to yourself
We hope that all our pupils have had a fantastic first day and are ready for the year ahead.
