Earlier in the year the Art Department submitted selected work from our Year 12 and 13 Art students to our local Arts Society, to be entered into the RBA Star Students exhibition. The work has to be agreed to by the local Arts Society before it can be entered into this National Competition and we were delighted that they agreed to submit all of our students' work.
The competition is only open to A level art students and generally most work sent is from Year 13. However, we had some particularly strong work being created by our Year 12 students and so requested that we be allowed to submit this, as well, which they agreed to. Over 36 societies from around the country submit A level students work, so it is an incredibly difficult competition to gain entry into.
We are delighted to announce that Frankie Krum's (13Story) Biro Drawing of her granddad Rob has been chosen by the Royal Society of British Art for this year's Star Students' exhibition at the Royal Over-Seas League (ROSL), London from 26 April 2019 to Sunday 19 June 2019, and then the RBA’s Annual Show at the Mall Galleries, in London from 4 July 2019 to 14 July 2019.
Frankie is one of only 21 students whose work was chosen out of a field of 247 entries, from 36 Arts Societies. What is even more impressive is that she was in Year 12 when she created this work.
We are incredibly proud of her achievement.
