Bishop Luffa had three girls competing in the National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA) Eventing over the Easter Holidays. This is the first time the NSEA have held schools eventing in the South East, there were a large number of schools and children competing, many of the schools have equestrian as part of their of curriculum and offer top training.
The first event was on Saturday 13 April, at Tweseldown, Hampshire. Jodie Moore (10Burrows) on Cookie and Lizzie Linford (10Burrows) on Cracker competed in the 80cm class. Jodie had an excellent dressage score, however sadly had a pole down in the show jumping, then went clear in the cross country, coming 9th in her section. Lizzie did very well, especially as she has only had her horse a few weeks, had a good dressage, clear show jumping, however sadly had one stop in the cross country at the water and came 11th in her section.
Bethany Stonefrost (11Sherborne) on Dijon took part in the 100cm class - this is the top height for the schools competitions in the area. They had a good dressage, sadly a couple of poles came down in the show jumping, before having an excellent cross country round to finish 6th. Bethany is currently waiting to hear if she has qualified for the National Schools Championship in September.
The 2nd event took place on Saturday 20th April, at Munstead in Surrey. Jodie on Ruby competed in the 100cm class. They had a great dressage, sadly one pole came down in the show jumping, then had an excellent round in the cross country and also came 6th. Jodie is also waiting to hear if she has qualified for the National Schools Championships in September.
All three girls did amazingly well against some very tough competition and we wish them all the best in future competitions.
