The RE Department has successfully achieved the Gold RE Quality Mark. The RE Quality Mark has two purposes: it recognises high quality RE, particularly those schools which are providing their learners with authentic experiences and contributing to whole school outcomes, and in addition, it provides a powerful tool for development. As part of the process the quality of teaching and learning, curriculum and leadership are assessed.
The assessor noted in their report that:
RE is well integrated into the whole school curriculum and there are some interesting cross curricula links and trips. Gaining knowledge of religions is important in the school and learners progress well as assessment is a particular strength. KS5 provision should be especially applauded. RE at the school contributes to the development of English citizens.
