On Monday 7th September we were finally able to welcome our new Year 7 pupils to Bishop Luffa School. Being unable to physically come in to the school before now has been hard for them, but they have risen to the challenge of finding their way around a new school and making new friends.
Year 7 spent their first day getting to know their tutor group, before Positively MAD gave a great session showing them creative approaches to learning. The end of the day saw all the students having a socially distanced afternoon tea on the school field.
Mr Topley, Assistant Headteacher, Head of Year 7 talked to the students about how to be ‘SAFE’ at Bishop Luffa.
S – SMILE – it will make you and others feel good. We want a school where there is a culture of kindness.
A – ASK – ask questions. Don’t be afraid if you don’t know something or want to find out more.
F – FEARLESS – you’ve got to be brave and face challenges.
E – ENTHUSIASM – be enthusiastic in your approach to learning and in relationships.
Here’s to a fantastic first year at Bishop Luffa School!
