Chichester Air Cadets Jasper Fowler (11Otter) and Alec Parkin (10Andrewes) recently took part in a National shooting competition. The Cadet Inter Service Skill at Arms Meet (CISSAM) took place near Liverpool and is a top-level competition for teams and individuals from the army, sea and air cadets.
Jasper and Alec have been training with the Sussex Wing Shooting Team for six months, with weekends at Pirbright, Longmoor, Sandhurst and Bisley ranges. They have done fantastically well, and all their hard work has been rewarded with a collection of silver and bronze medals and a coveted Cadet 50 badge for being among the top 50 cadet marksmen in the country.
Wing Commander Helene Gould and Officer Commanding Sussex Wing RAF Air Cadets praised them for their high standards of discipline and teamwork. Cpl Fowler and Cdt Parkin are members of 461(Chichester) RAF Air Cadets who have just moved to a fantastic new building, which includes its own shooting range, The Keep on Broyle Road.
Congratulations to both boys for some great results.
