Chichester Festival of Speech and Drama

Chichester Festival of Speech and Drama was recently held at Central School and we were delighted that many of our pupils gained awards. Amberley Norris-Warton (7Burrows) and Grace Watkins (8Ridgeway) won the Katherine Hoare Drama Cup for a dramatic duologue, and Alex Webb (7Burrows) won the Under 12 Heatherwood Championship Cup, with Amberley being awarded second place. Grace also won the Leslie Evershed-Martin Rose Bowl for Dramatic Intermediate 12-14 years Championship Cup. The Old Mime Cup, which is for a devised piece to include mime, improvisation, scene from a play and movement was won for the third year running by Charlie Gordon (7Wilson), Alex Webb (7Burrows), Amberley Norris-Warton and Grace Watkins, with a themed piece on Exams. Alex also took second place for a musical theatre song. All produced some fantastic work against some very strong competition.

Maya Solly (8Ridgeway) won two first place cups for her guitar solo and her technical perfection class, and a second medal for a duet with Jasmine Westlake (9Otter). Congratulations to all our talented pupils.
