Holly Walford (8Sherborne) has been helping out with ‘Project Wingman’ and baked this fantastic cake for staff at St Richard’s Hospital to share.
Project Wingman was started by cabin crew and pilots who have donated their time and money to make a rest room for hospital workers at St. Richard’s Hospital. Holly’s mum works there and said: “Everyday these lovely amazing volunteers give up their time to bake, collect donations and serve us fresh tea and coffee during our short breaks. It is such a lovely atmosphere and they look after us well. Personally, to be able to escape the busy A&E department for 15 minutes is lovely.”
Recently Project Wingman had their six-month anniversary and they celebrated by holding a bake off. During lockdown, Holly started her own baking business, as she is an avid baker and has taken around £300-£400 over the last 6 months in orders. She has donated some of her profit to the A&E department and treated the staff to a new sandwich toaster.”
Well done Holly on all your hard work supporting this amazing initiative. More information about Project Wingman can be found at www.projectwingman.co.uk
