We are delighted and excited to inform all parents and carers of Year 12 students that Bishop Luffa Sixth Form has been chosen to participate and be part of a new research study developed by lead researchers at UCL, Stanford University and the University of California, Berkeley. It will involve an online intervention which focuses on improving student’s ability to regulate their emotions and improve their mental health and well-being. It promotes positive beliefs about emotions – the idea is that you can control your emotions, and with practice, you can get better at it. If you are interested please look at this 2-minute YouTube clip on this topic which summarises a recent systematic review of the literature that was carried out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=US78BzDUL3s
We are confident that this collaborative project is in line with our school’s values and ethos and it is a fantastic opportunity that gives us access to new materials that will support our student’s well-being.
The IOE (UCL's Faculty of Education and Society is the world's leading centre for education and social science research, teaching, and engagement.) has been ranked first globally in the QS Global Rankings for Education, so this is an excellent opportunity for our Sixth Form and the students to work with globally significant research.
