It has been a longstanding tradition that during the run up to Valentine’s Day Otter House sell roses to the school community. These roses are purchased by pupils and staff along with a small note and then delivered to the recipient of their choice on or just before 14 February. They can be sent to encourage a friend, as an anonymous gift or to thank a member of staff. The money raised is donated to MacMillan Cancer, Otter’s House charity.
As a House we don’t want the current circumstances to stop us from raising money for this incredible charity and the important work that they do. Therefore, we have decided to move the Roses sale online.
We are inviting pupils, with parents and carers' support and permission, to purchase virtual roses that can be sent to any one that is part of Bishop Luffa School. To purchase a rose/roses we ask you to visit your Parentmail account where a payment option will have been added. The suggested amount per rose is £1. Once a rose has been paid for please ask your child to fill in the Otter Roses Google form that will have been shared with them with the name of the person they want to send the rose to and a short message of encouragement. The rose can be sent signed with the name of the sender or anonymously so please ask you children to make that clear on the message. The roses will then be sent out from the following email address otterroses@bishopluffa,org,uk. Each message will be checked before it is sent out to ensure it is appropriate and reflects the school’s ethos. Please make your children aware of this.
Roses will be on sale via Parentmail between 1st and 11th February and then delivered to pupil’s school email addresses on 12th February before half term begins.
Thank you so much in advance for your support and generosity. We believe that this will not only raise money for an important cause but also bring our school community together and lift every one’s spirits at this time.
