Bishop Luffa School was approached in October by the Chichester Priory Rotary Club asking if we would like to participate in their annual Shoebox Appeal.
The aim of the initiative was simply to fill shoeboxes with age appropriate gifts for children in less privileged countries to receive in time for Christmas. The destination countries include Albania, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania to name but a few.
Ridgeway House was inundated with an array of thoughtful and incredibly generous gifts; we managed to fill in excess of 30 shoeboxes! This really is testament to the spirit and selfless generosity of our pupils and their parents and underlines the values we uphold as a Church of England school.
The Rotary Club said: “We are so pleased with the results of the effort from your school. I can't thank you enough for all the support you have provided. Please pass on our appreciation to the pupils, staff and parents.”
Once again, a huge thanks to everyone who contributed to this incredibly moving and worthwhile cause.
Mr James Vann, Head of Ridgeway House
