Each year, Safer Internet Day is celebrated around the world by thousands of schools, charities and other organisations. Internet safety is an important part of education and is something we take very seriously in our curriculum, but we also use Safer Internet Day to take part in themed activities. The theme for this year is Be the change: Unite for a better internet!.
Our school is part of a group of West Sussex Primary and Secondary schools who have come together to organize a series of events during the second week in February to celebrate the many positives of the internet, and to raise awareness of the issues that children and young people face online today. They will be taking part in a range of activities. During the week, schools have invited a nationally-renowned speaker to take part in a number of these activities, including parent talks. Alan Mackenzie will raise the awareness of a range of issues that affect children and young people along with clear, practical advice to help parents in this difficult area.
Parents are invited to attend a free Internet Safety talk being held at Chichester High School on Tuesday 7 February at 6.30pm or at The Regis School on Wednesday 8 February at 6.30pm.
