Joe Hughes-Cornick (12Burrows) and Louie Martin (a former pupil) recently received their Arkwright Scholarship in London. Here's Joe's report on the ceremony they attended.
Louie Martin and I were both awarded the Arkwright Engineering scholarship at the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) on Thursday 25 October. At the Ceremony we met our engineering sponsors who will financially support our personal engineering projects as well as provide information on lectures and engineering events. The ceremony started with speeches from British Aerospace Systems, Royal Air Force and Rolls Royce, who were the largest sponsors of this year’s award. One of the key things highlighted in the ceremony was the urgent need for new engineers into the industry. It was a great honour to receive this Scholarship especially when supporting engineering is more prevalent than ever before.
We wish both Joe and Louie all the best in their studies.
