Bishop Luffa School supports the fantastic work of the BEATS Charity, which was set up following the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami which claimed many lives over a vast area in Indonesia. We recently received an update from them:
“Thank you so much for the £183.77 donated to BEATS Charity from your 'Wear Something Festive' fundraiser. We are truly grateful. YASAH Children's Home School Indonesia, for which BEATS pay the High School salaries, helps over 400 disadvantaged children. One current need, within the home itself is for replacement very weathered windows, which is a health and safety issue. The cost of replacement and installation is £110, so this amount can be allocated to that and the remaining amount (£73.77) towards teachers' salaries. Our grateful thanks to parents and pupils.”
The worn, dangerous condition of the old frame can be seen in the photo on the left. The new window is shown in the photo on the right.
