During February I travelled to Orlando, Florida to compete in Twirlmania 2020 which is a World Open Baton Twirling Championship. It was a great honour to represent my team and my country throughout the competition. I competed in basic, military, I-struct, freestyle strut, solo twirl, duet, 2-baton, solo dance twirl, freestyle, auxiliary dance solo, auxiliary show sole, team twirl, dance team twirl, dance line and pom team! I was also given the opportunity to compete in modelling and best appearing sections. I also helped the coach and choreographed my younger sister’s routines and was able to watch her perform and compete. Both I and my sister were selected to be nominated for Miss Twirlmania which is an overall title for the competition. I was very luck to have eight top ten titles. I was placed 9th for modelling, 8th for solo dance twirl, 5th for auxiliary dance, 3rd for freestyle strut, 2nd for military, 4th for I-strut and 1st for auxiliary show solo. My sister also won her photogenic section and had a few top ten placements. We also came 3rd for our dance line team which I was lucky enough to choreograph.
Twirlmania also gave me the opportunity to perform in the Disney Parade and compete at the ESPN Wide World of Sports. It was the most amazing experience and I am so proud to be able to represent England and bring back some wins.
