On 29th June, Year 12 were invited to join the debate on: “Is there room for religion in a secular world?”
Students looked at articles on politics, scientific research, celebrity culture and explored census data too, to unpack this question further. Students then presented their ideas on stage, to their peers. We had some fantastic persuasive arguments shared throughout the course of the morning and some breakfast to enjoy along the way too. The session was brought to a close by the wonderful Richard Carter, who is the families and youth worker at St. John's Church, Southbourne. Both Richard and myself were incredibly impressed with how confidently all students put their arguments forward and inspired us, providing plenty of food for thought.
