Year 9 pupils recently visited Chichester Cathedral. Amenie Groves (9Story) gives her thoughts on the trip:
"The RE trip to the Cathedral was inspiring and incredible."
"First we listened to a talk on the Trinity, where we looked at old and new art to see what it represented through colour, lighting and image. We also had a talk on Climate Change and what that meant for Christians - we got free chocolate so that one was a very good workshop! We discussed Fairtrade, as well as organic farming and solar power.
"Then we listened to four different people from different religions explain what their religion meant to not only them but to their whole community. We learnt so much from all the amazing speakers, and met some fantastic people too, including a Buddhist monk! It really opened our eyes to the reality of discrimination today and how we can support others too.
"It was a valuable experience that made each of us go away with new understanding, definitely useful to us in the years to come preparing for GCSE."
