After School Activities and Clubs

There is a wide and varied range of School Clubs and Activities that take place in school.  We have an extended PE Curriculum and a comprehensive list of Extra Curricular School Clubs and Activities

Unfortunately due to the current COVID-19 restrictions we have delayed starting many of our Clubs and After School activities.

PE after school clubs’ restart

We are excited to inform you that PE after school clubs will restart from Monday 12th October. All after school clubs will follow strict covid-19 guidance that has been outlined by the sports national governing body and the Government.

Initially there will be a significantly reduced programme compared to previous years to trial the running of clubs which can be viewed on the following page, please note time and day differences for each year group. There is no cost to attend these after school clubs. Some fixtures within the West Sussex West area may begin before Christmas if it is safe to do so. The sports bulletin will begin to be sent home via Parentmail on a weekly basis from Monday 12th October, this will keep you up to date with after school clubs, fixtures and students sporting successes outside of school.

At this stage Government guidance states that in a school setting PE/school sport should take place outside where possible. When the situation arises where there is wet weather, I will make every effort to keep the club running, as a result pupil will need to wear a suitable coat to keep warm and dry. In the event of extreme weather and the after school club is cancelled, students' class teacher will be informed before lunch time on the day of the club.

Students that wish to attend an after school club need to arrive at school in full and correct PE kit with the specialised equipment that will be required for certain sports in their bag, e.g. football require boots and shin pads. Students will remain in their PE kit for the whole day and leave the after school club in their PE kit. Students are reminded they must wear their blazer over the top of their PE kit during the school day. At the end of the school day students attending a PE after school club will go to the MUGA where PE staff will register all students before the club commences.

Once the after school club has ended, students are responsible for their arranging their transport home.  If you have any further questions do not hesitate to contact Mr T Godfray, Team Leader of Physical Education (godfrayt@bishopluffa.org.uk)

Please do encourage your child to get involved, there is something there for everyone. Please note that there is a charge for some activities.  The full range of activities and clubs are available to view in the attachment below.
