University Support Programme

95% of our cohort usually go onto higher education, many to Russell group universities. The vast majority achieve their firm choice.

We offer the following to Year 12 from the summer term onwards:

  • PSE sessions delivered by visiting universities (on finance, student life etc.) and ex-students
  • PSE and tutor sessions on how to choose a university, write the personal statement and complete the UCAS application form
  • Regular notices in tutor time and assemblies on summer schools, open days, scholarships etc.
  • HE noticeboard in the Sixth Form Centre + Prospectuses in Sixth Form Library
  • Access to the UNIQ, Sutton Trust and Eton University summer school programmes
  • Authorised absence for open day visits
  • Specialist Oxbridge and Medics support programme
  • Parents’ UCAS Information Evening (in June)
  • Checking of personal statements and writing of references by tutors and Head of Sixth Form
  • Careers Adviser Interviews
  • Mock interviews with subject leaders
  • Adviser track and support with deciding on firm and insurance choices
  • Student Finance England talk in PSE
  • Results day support service with guidance on clearing and adjustment
