Year 6 Parents & Carers

For us, relationships between home and school are highly valued and it is important that we work together to ensure that your children have a positive start to secondary school.

At this time of year, we would usually have completed visits to primary schools to meet with students and teachers to gather information and to put “a face to the name”. Unfortunately, as you will understand we have had to cancel these “face to face” meetings. However, we wish to reassure you that we are in communication with your children’s primary schools and Year 6 class teachers regarding their move to Bishop Luffa.

Of course, we would like if possible, to be able to ensure your children have the opportunity to come in to school before the start of the next academic year. This allows them to meet their form tutor and tutor group and become more familiar with the school. However, as the current situation is uncertain in terms of reopening, we will have to confirm this date following government guidance.

Over the coming weeks, we will keep you updated if we are able to make more firm plans. Information regarding the transition process will be uploaded on this Transition page of the school website. Please check this regularly. To help us with this, it is more important than ever that we have up to date contact details for you, including phone numbers and preferably an email address that you will be able to check regularly as this is the quickest and easiest way for us to keep you up to date.

We will communicate information around induction days, via letter, on the school website and through our twitter account.

In the meantime, if you have any questions in the coming weeks, please see this page or contact us on the following email address: transition@bishopluffa.org.uk
