Dear parents, carers and friends of Bishop Luffa School,
Welcome to our first yearbook, celebrating a busy twelve months at Bishop Luffa School. Our vision for the school comes from John 10:10, where Jesus explains his role in the lives of his followers: “I have come in order that you might have life - life in all its fullness.” We aim to give all of our students the richest experience of education that they can have. Hopefully our yearbook will give you a glimpse of some of that fullness.
It is very important to us that we live out our values, and you will find details of the many charities that we have supported during the year. Each House has their own charity, and we choose The Snowdrop Trust, Springboard and Grassroots as our whole school charities. Over the course of the year Bishop Luffa students raised £17,000 for good causes, with events ranging from bake sales to the annual Sixth Form Fashion Show.
We have been blessed to be the beneficiaries of charity ourselves. One of our parents has started a charity called ‘Business 2 Schools’, which encourages businesses to donate used furniture and IT equipment to local schools. We also have an active and very successful Parents, Carers and Friends Association, who have raised enough money this year to create a recording studio and fund a mini-bus, school counsellor and buy our students daily newspapers.
Bishop Luffa School is a unique place to live and work, a place where we all give our best because we truly believe that everyone around us matters.
