Teaching Assistant
Grade 4
£25,583—£25,989 pro rata (Actual salary £17,711—£17,992)
30 hours per week, Term Time only + 5 INSET days
8.00am—2.30pm (30 minutes unpaid lunch break)
Bishop Luffa School are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and resourceful person in the role of Teaching Assistant. The successful candidate will work alongside and under the guidance of the SENCo and will be required to support individual students and small groups. This exciting and rewarding role requires someone who:
- has high standards and takes pride in the quality of their work
- is able to work effectively in a team
- enjoys making a real difference to students’ learning
- is patient, flexible, adaptable and able to show initiative
The post requires excellent communication skills, a good general educational background and the ability to work in partnership with teachers. IT skills would be an advantage.
Many of our previous post holders have utilised the post to develop experience in the education sector before progressing to PGCE courses, educational psychology and working within educational charities.

Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) at Bishop Luffa Launchpad
Grade 6
£27,254—£28,598 pro rata (Actual salary £8,176—£8,579)
13 hours per week (2 days)

Bishop Luffa School are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and resourceful person in the role of part time Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) based at Launchpad, Lavant. The successful candidate will support teaching and learning within Launchpad, a Key Stage 4 alternative provision setting, by leading specific curriculum areas, delivering targeted interventions and providing in class support for students. The HLTA will play a key role in promoting student progress, engagement and wellbeing through a proactive and responsive approach, supporting positive outcomes for learners with diverse and often complex needs.
