Year 8 Project 'Festivities in the Hispanic World'
For our final Spanish module of the year, our Year 8 students explored the theme of "Festivities in the Hispanic World." Throughout the unit, they learned about the importance of family, food, music, and traditions across the Spanish-speaking world.
As part of their learning, students chose either a Hispanic festival or a Hispanic celebrity to research before creating a range of informative and creative presentations. We were especially impressed by Rosa Hamilton (8Otter), Isla Hayman (8Andrewes), Anabel Day (8Sherborne), Juniper Palmer-Bullock (8Sherborne), and Mollie Robson (8Sherborne), who went the extra mile by baking fantastic cakes inspired by La Tomatina and Día de los Muertos.
It was a wonderful way to round off the academic year, celebrating Hispanic culture together while showcasing the students' creativity, enthusiasm, and hard work.
