Year 6 Transition Day 2026
There was a real buzz around school as we welcomed our new Year 6 students for Transition Day.
From the moment they arrived, it was lovely to see so many smiles, questions and excited conversations as students began to get a feel for life at Luffa. During the day, they spent time with their new tutor groups, met key members of staff and began to learn what it means to belong to their House.
Students threw themselves into a brilliant range of sample lessons, including Design Technology, Music, PSHE, Geography, Languages and Art. Whether they were creating, performing, exploring new ideas or trying something completely different, they showed real enthusiasm, curiosity and a fantastic willingness to get involved.
Our House Buddies were superb throughout the day, helping students find their way around, answering questions and making sure everyone felt welcome. Heads of House and form tutors also played a huge part in helping students settle in — including, of course, making a very strong case for why their House is the best!
It was a really positive day, full of energy, encouragement and excitement for the journey ahead. We were so impressed by the way our new students embraced the experience, and we hope they went home feeling reassured, proud and excited about joining the Bishop Luffa family in September.
