Welcome to

Bishop Luffa School

Welcome to Bishop Luffa School!

We are a school of hope, where students are invited to explore their God-given potential.

OUR VISION as a school comes from John 10:10: ‘I came so you can have life – life in all its fullness’. Our aim is to show every child what 'life in all its fullness' means, so they can live out their God-given potential.

OUR VALUES are expressed in our school motto: ‘always our best because everyone matters’. Jesus told us ‘love each other as I have loved you’ (John 15:12). We want all of our students to know that they are loved and to treat other people and the world around them with love and respect.

Staff at Bishop Luffa commit to:

Inspire all students to be ambitious about their futures

Encourage and develop leadership

Develop partnerships within, and beyond, the school

Foster engagement in personal and spiritual development

Nurture a sense of belonging to a safe school and the wider world

Best wishes,

Austen Hindman, Head Teacher.

Our School Captains for 2025-2026 are Scarlette Guilfoyle and Rupert Reddington.

Scarlette Guilfoyle

Hello!  My name is Scarlette Guilfoyle and I am absolutely thrilled to work alongside Rupert this year as your school captains. I am currently studying English Literature, Theatre studies and Biology with the intention to study acting at drama school. I joined Bishop Luffa at the start of year 12, so being elected as school captain has proved to me just how welcoming our school community is. Ever since my first day I knew Bishop Luffa's community was something I wanted to maintain and push to be the absolute best it can be. By being your school captain my goal and drive is hearing what you have to say and making what students want happen. Your voice is so important! So please, stop me in the corridor and have a chat absolutely whenever you would like. I am so excited to see what this academic year holds for us all!

Rupert Reddington

Hi, I’m Rupert, and I’m really pleased to have been elected as School Captain this year alongside Scarlette. I am studying Computer Science, Maths and Economics at A-level, and I plan to continue with Computer Science at university. One of the reasons I went for this role was because I enjoy working as part of a team and taking on new challenges, and I felt that being a School Captain would be a great opportunity to do both. I’m especially looking forward to representing the school at different occasions, working closely with teachers and students, and helping to create a positive and supportive environment for everyone at Bishop Luffa.
