A Fantastic Celebration of Reading

The 2026 Literature Quiz was a fantastic celebration of reading, bringing together students for a day of literary competition and teamwork.

In preparation for the event, our teams read four fantastic books: The Last Life of Lori Mills by Max Boucherat, Runaways by E. L. Norry, The Boy at the Window by Lucy Strange and Too Close to Home by Aoife Walsh. Students were quizzed on these books as well as their general book knowledge across several rounds of questions.

All three teams performed brilliantly on the day, with our Year 7 team even securing a win in one of the rounds.

A highlight of the event was the opportunity for students to meet all four authors. They took part in an engaging panel discussion. Students heard about the writers’ experiences, asked questions and gained insight into the creative process. The event included the opportunity to have their books personally signed by the authors.

Overall, it was a memorable experience that celebrated students’ efforts, enthusiasm and love of reading.
