Exploring Art
Year 13 art students ventured to London at the start of term to explore different artworks for their major coursework project. The Grayson Perry exhibition at The Wallace Collection was a highlight, showcasing some contemporary, colourful works in a variety of media contrasting with and responding to Rococo masterpieces. The National Portrait Gallery gave us the opportunity to see The Portrait Award whilst Tate Modern had a wealth of artworks to inspire everyone.
A fantastic day was had by Year 12 Art Students at Ochre Print Studio in Guildford. The students explored printmaking techniques as part of their project on the theme “Seeing Each Other”, inspired by the current exhibition at Pallant House Gallery. Led by their talented Artist in Residence, Corinne Mangan @corinne_l_mangan, the workshop encouraged creative expression, experimentation, and thoughtful reflection through print. They will use lots of the work they produced to develop ideas for their own responses. Well done Year 12!
