Sherborne House History
Robert Sherborne was Bishop of Chichester from 1508 to 1536. Sherborne was Archdeacon of Huntingdon (1494–1496), Archdeacon of Buckingham and of Taunton (1496–1505) and Dean of St. Paul’s (1499–1505). Exceptionally, he held ecclesiastical posts prior to ordination: he was made a deacon in 1499 and ordained a priest on 5 March 1501. From 1505 to 1508 he was bishop of St Davids.
Sherborne was a patron of the artist Lambert Barnard, commissioning several series of paintings from him. He founded the Free Grammar School in Rolleston, around 1520. It continued to 1909.

a review of Sherborne House 2024-25
2024/25 marked an incredibly successful period for Sherborne House.
Over the past academic year Sherborne were the holders of the prestigious House Cup. Jamie Botham (8Sh), Izzy Harris (9Sh) and Razvan Hitikas (10Sh) proudly collected the award on the final day of term from Mr Hindman. They were selected to do so due to collecting the most House Points in their respective forms. This marked the first time Sherborne had won the trophy!
Continuing our heritage of success in the Performing Arts, Sherborne once again made the House Drama finals for the 4th time over the past 5 competitions. Poppy May Pallett, Gabby Yuen and Liv Cogger (12Sh) were the talented directors of “The Gruffalo” and were praised by the judge for their creativity, use of props costume design and set transitions. The stellar all KS3 cast did a remarkable job to carry on our proud House tradition. Special mentions go to Florence Day, Oliver Scott, Jackson Harding, Rebekah Bishop, Anabel Day, Juno Palmer-Bullock, Lena Satherley, Alexa Bevan, Molly Bye, Esme Pallett (7Sh) and Alfie Wignall-Jones (8Sh).
The Sherborne House Committee for 2024/5 was comprised of House Colours recipients Ella Hatch, Libby Johnson, Harry Kemp, Riley Terry Eld, Abi Hughes (11Sh) and House Captain Hannah Carr (12Sh). Many thanks for their efforts in overseeing Sherborne student feedback and charity events over the past year.
