On Friday 10th May Bishop Luffa Christian Union headed off on their residential weekend to the CYE centre in Chidham. It was a fantastic weekend, jam-packed with land and water activities, plenty of singing, fellowship, and lots of great food.
Students arrived on Friday, and it wasn't long before they were playing football, and enjoying a camp fire with obligatory s'mores. It was that evening, we all realised that Mrs Bradberry, and Andy Morgan could give Harry Kane a run for his money!
On Saturday, we got the opportunity to go sailing and kayaking. It was fantastic, as many of the CYE leaders were previous, or current, Bishop Luffa Students. It very much felt like a family reunion. We managed to fit in some crabbing before dinner, and I can confirm no crabs were harmed! This was followed by singing, testimonies, and games from 'One Church', in Emsworth. We managed to sing what is fast becoming the school anthem, 'My Lighthouse', on the CYE boat- a Bishop Luffa first! We ended the evening with the option of watching a movie in the snug, or playing some games.
On our final day, we got to have a go at tunnelling and marshmallow archery, followed by a wonderful Sunday roast.
I would like to extend my thanks to Mrs Bradberry, Mrs Copeland, Rev. Andy Morgan and the CYE staff team for all their help. Furthermore, a very special thanks goes out to all the wonderful students on the trip. They represented the school incredibly well, and we were very proud of them. It was very much a weekend where we experienced 'life in all its fullness.'
