Since the start of this year, 24 Year 7 to 9 students (including those with Special Educational Needs and English as an additional language) have been enjoying regular trips to Forest School with the Goodwood Education Trust. Forest Schools aim to enable all children, young people and adults to grow their confidence and skills and to enjoy making the most of being outside in the natural world.
Goodwood's Forest School offers calm, enriching outdoor learning experiences in beautiful farmland and woodland. Experiences range from farm trips to a wide range of woods-based activities, all a stone’s throw from Goodwood House and the Home Farm. Feedback from everyone going to Forest School this term has been overwhelmingly positive.
They have really liked seeing the animals, including brand-new Gloucester Old Spot piglets, deep-red Sussex calves and a lot of extremely springy Southdown lambs. They also enjoyed the chance to relax outside, ‘cook’ in a very muddy mud kitchen, enjoy crafts, games and activities in the fresh air and make delicious snacks on the fire.
