In January we entered our Luffa La Diva choir into the National Choir Competition.
The results are in … La Diva scored 88/100 which earned them a Silver award (they missed the Gold award by 2 marks!). This is a wonderful achievement as at the point of entry the choir had only been together less than a year and it is their first competition.
This is what the UK Schools Music Festival adjudicator Victoria Simmonds had to say,
“Thank you for this lovely performance of Never Enough from the Greatest Showman and City of Stars from La La Land. I really enjoyed listening to your well-balanced show choir. The moments when you all burst out into multiple harmonies are really special, and it was really nice to hear those moments of quiet unison as well. You followed your conductor very well, whether she was playing or conducting you – well done! The synchronisation of your consonants was really good – you clearly are excellent at listening to each other. It sounded like one voice at times.”
