On Monday 11th March Bishop Luffa Sixth Form showcased their contribution to this year's National Theatre Connections Festival with their interpretation of the brand new play, Kiss Marry and Push off the Cliff in their home performance at the Luffa Drama Studio to a live audience of friends and family.
This was their first installment of the piece which is to be followed by a performance at The MAST Studios, Mayflower Theatre Southampton in May. We were honoured to be visited by a drama practitioner from the National Theatre who was most impressed by the piece. Focusing on a group of friends on a camping trip after their A Levels, the play is a hard hitting exploration of the cruelty and kindness of adolescence. Directed by Sixth Form drama students Max Holben (13Andrewes) and Tess Langford (13Wilson), the play was imaginatively conceived with a creative and symbolic set, and carefully drawn characters performed by our talented drama students.
