On a lovely, but very warm, June evening the Arts Faculty’s Annual Fruition showcase took place. This year we were joined by our fellow creatives in the guise of the Design and Technology Faculty. The evening was a huge success with all departments showcasing their fantastic work.
Our audience was able to wander through the arts spaces and outside absorbing the creative atmosphere. Family, friends and students viewed an Art Exhibition presenting the work of GCSE and A Level Art students; enjoyed Dance performances; watched some extracts from this years’ House Drama Festival and experienced performances from solo musicians in the main foyer.
On the ‘bandstand’ there was a wide variety of musical performances from exam groups and extra-curricular Music clubs, and the Dance Studio became a cinema for the evening to showcase a range of GCSE Media Studies and A Level Media Studies projects.
Design and Technology proudly presented a range of exhibits of products designed by students plus there was a chance to buy crepes and find out more about the Green Power Team’s car ‘Mercury’. Awards were also handed out to the Ambassadors for Design and Technology 2023 (see the news article https://www.bishopluffa.org.uk/news/ambassadors-for-design-and-technology-2023/ to find out more).
It was a vibrant celebration of the work that staff and students create across the Arts and DT subjects. I extend my thanks to all those involved and to the hard working PFA for providing the refreshments.
Here’s to Fruition 2024!
