We are delighted to announce that King House are the winners of Bishop Luffa House Drama Festival 2023 with their highly engaging and slick production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time, directed by Liesl Pilgrim, Amber Irvine, Emilia Barnett and Eleanor Farquhar.
Bishop Luffa’s prestigious House Drama Festival started on Monday. It was a lively event again this year, with a great range of drama achieved by all eight Houses. The Festival is a showcase of performing talent with Sixth Formers directing students from Years 7-10 in short play as part of a House competition.
The four finalists performing to an audience of special guests, parents, carers and friends were: Andrewes House with ‘Private Peaceful’, Wilson House with ‘Alice’, Sherborne House with ‘Beauty and the Beast’ and King House with ‘The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time’. Our judge this year was ex-Luffa student, Lucy Betts, an award-winning, freelance stage director who has worked at many theatres across the country. Her feedback recognised the very high standard of performance work achieved by all four finalists. She also recalled how much House Drama meant to her when she was a student at Luffa. It was an electric evening and a wonderful celebration of Bishop Luffa Drama with a huge response from the audience and high tension during the judges feedback at the end.
